For his newest project Satellite Party, Perry Farrell joined up with Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme) and it actually sounds pretty dope. He also brought in Thievery Co., Fergie (Black Eyed Peas), Flea and John Frusciante (Chili Peppers) who took part in leading a 30 piece orchestra on 5 songs, Peter DiStefano (Porno for Pyros), and Jim Morrison (The Doors). Yes, that's right, he used some previously unreleased vocals by the Lizard King himself on "Woman in the Window"."There's a story attached to the music," Perry says. "This group of people, who call themselves the Solutionists, try to create a myth. It's the idea of, by putting together their own parties and their own media hub on the Internet, they begin to redesign and come up with solutions for the world."
Satellite Party's album "Ultra Payloaded" blends rock, electronic programming, symphonic pieces, and even some middle eastern rhythms but doesn't fill the void created by the absence of Jane's Addiction.
